Alvin ISD's Communication Department Honored at State Public Relations Awards

Alvin ISD’s Communications Department was recently honored with 13 Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Star Awards. The winners were announced and presented this past February, at TSPRA’s Annual Conference.

The Alvin ISD Communications Department was awarded with

-    Three Best of Category Awards.
-    11 Gold Star Awards.
-    One Silver Star Award.
-    And One Bronze Award.

All of this was made possible by the hardworking members of the Communications Department:

-    Director of Communications: Renae Rives,
-    Graphics and Communications Coordinator: Rachel Moore.
-    Multimedia Communications Specialist: Kinsey Droege.
-    Multimedia Communications Specialist and Videographer: Phil Jean.
-    Administrative Assistant: Tammy Mentzel.
-    And Administrative Assistant: Melinda Purcell.

Director Renae Rivers applauded the efforts of her team, stating “It’s exciting to see their hard work rewarded.”

The department was presented with Gold Star Awards in the Printed External Newsletter Category as well as the Flyer Category for the Read, Write, Repeat Flyer.

One of their most notable Gold Star Awards was given to them in the Education Good News Campaign Category. The department took home the Gold for their story covering an Alvin ISD custodian who extended compassion toward a student desperately in need of emotional support.
