Students Attend Alvin ISD Schools
Alvin ISD covers 252 square miles in northern Brazoria County and serves the communities of Alvin, Manvel, Iowa Colony, Liverpool, Amsterdam, and parts of Rosharon, Arcola, and Pearland. Approximately 28,000 students make Alvin ISD the largest school district in Brazoria County. The district has three high schools, school of choice-high school, eight junior high schools and nineteen elementary schools. Ninety-six percent of students in Alvin ISD graduate from high school, above the state average.
The district enjoys an excellent 15:1 student to teacher ratio and has made equipping classrooms with 21st century technology a priority, including student computers, interactive projected media, document cameras, and campus wide wireless network support. The district’s focus on ensuring each student receives a quality education includes curriculum, models and programs such as Thinking Maps and Building Academic Vocabulary in K-12 classrooms, as well as encouraging parental involvement and providing tools for students to apply to and attend college.
