Brazoria County Highway 288 Expressway Opens Monday, November 16, 2020
The long-awaited Brazoria County 288 Expressway will open for traffic on Monday, November 16th according to a release from Brazoria County.
The expressway extends from CR 58 North to Brazoria County-Harris County line at Clear Creek, which is 5.2 miles. The opening will be in conjunction with the Harris County section of the 288 Expressway that spans 10.3 miles from the Southwest Freeway near downtown Houston to the Harris/Brazoria county line at Clear Creek, just south of the South Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8). Construction of this $815 million project began in October of 2016.
Residents can travel the expressway for free from Harris County to Brazoria County, between Nov. 16-29. Tolling will begin for both sections on Nov. 30.
