Construction is underway on the new Brazoria County Expressway, which will make commuting on Highway 288 faster and more efficient. The project consists of the development of a 4-lane tollroad within the existing median of SH 288. These lanes will extend from CR 60 in Brazoria County to just south of US 59 in Harris County. This new Expressway will improve commute times from Del Bello Lakes into the Texas Medical Center or downtown business district when complete.
