Upcoming Election: Candidates Running for Pearland and Friendswood City Councils

Friendswood and Pearland city councils both have positions open on the May 1st election ballot.

Pearland’s ballot has two positions open for the City Council election:

-    Position 2: Incumbent Tony Carbone, who is currently running unopposed.
-    Position 4: Jeff Hunkele is running head-to-head against incumbent Adrian Hernandez.

Friendswood has three open positions available in the upcoming election. This includes council positions 1 and 3 as well as an open seat for the mayor. Each of the candidates in the race for these respective positions are currently running unopposed.

As it stands, Mike Foreman is the sole candidate running for mayoral office in Friendswood. Council incumbents Trish Hanks and Steve Rockey are also running unopposed in re-election for their current seats.

Friendswood City Council will hold a meeting on March 1st to discuss the necessity of moving forward with holding an election in May. This meeting will determine if an election is necessary for granting re-elected status to their unopposed candidates Rockey, Foreman, and Hanks.
