5K Pear Run Returns May 7, 2022

The city of Pearland announced last week that the 5K Pear Run will be held May 7, 2022. The race was not held in 2020 or 2021 due to the pandemic.

The race will start and finish at Independence Park at 3449 Pearland Parkway. Participants will receive a medal and early registrants will get an event t-shirt.

Registration is open for all ages and will cost $35 until May 6. Anyone who wants to register the day of the event will need to pay $45, according to the release.

The Pear Run is a fundraiser traditionally held each year that raises proceeds for the Pearland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, a nonprofit that aids the Pearland Police Department, such as with nonbudgeted needs for the department, said Heather Baker, a director for the nonprofit.
