Alvin ISD Introduces Read Write Repeat Reading Program
Read Write Repeat is the Alvin ISD 2020 Summer Reading Program for district students. Designed to offer tips for summer reading to students, each campus in the district has adapted the program.
The program tips include encouraging students to join a book club, re-read a book they love, read about a place they would like to visit, read a blog and respond, read to a family pet or stuffed animal, read out loud using animated voices, or read a book that became a movie.
Students can lose two months of academic progress over the summer. Reading is a crucial way to significantly reduce the decline in reading abilities over the summer, according to AISD officials.
The district is asking students to take photos of themselves reading and tag the district on Twitter @alvinisd.
