Texas Energy Managers Association Honors Alvin ISD with Energy Program of the Year Award

Alvin ISD has built a reputation for implementing and maintaining one of the most responsible energy management programs in the entire district. At the 2021 State Conference, The Texas Energy Managers Association honored Alvin ISD with this year’s Resource Management Award.

This award showcases Alvin ISD’s effectiveness in bringing sustainable energy management practices to the forefront of their district. The district’s efforts have increased their energy conservation, efficiency, and savings.

Alvin ISD has consistently reduced its energy consumption, year after year, since it started its Energy Management department in 2010. In that time, they have saved over 7.6 million kilowatt-hours of power, earning the district more than $528,000 in rebates.

Alvin ISD’s officers and directors credit these accomplishments to the district’s innovative energy, building construction, and maintenance departments. This, of course, also wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and collaboration of their staff, students, facilities, and campuses across the district.
